21st Century Classroom Management
Managing the classroom has never been easy, and in the 21st century when so much learning centres around choice, collaboration and independent learning it can be challenging to find the fine line which separates freedom to learn and complete chaos. We talk a lot about routines and strategies for managing children positively, however, good classroom management should be integrated into everything we do in the classroom, and should therefore be indistinguishable from good teaching and not something extra we have to do. In this talk I’ll be focussing on key moments during lessons where good classroom management and good teaching collide. I’ll be sharing my experiences of keeping the learning environment positive, productive and conducive to learning and students motivated, engaged and ready to learn.
