Teacher Training Event

Teacher Training Event

Start the new academic year with fresh ideas, practical inspiration and professional development!

The Exams Catalunya Autumn Teacher Training Event takes place on Saturday, 21 November—the first of three Teacher Training events we’ll be hosting throughout the academic year.

Join us for a morning of professional development featuring two engaging workshops, designed to inspire your teaching and give you practical ideas to take back to the classroom. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with fellow teachers and share ideas and experiences.

As always, our colleagues from Cambridge University Press & Assessment will be joining us, and the Exams Catalunya team will be on hand throughout the morning to answer any questions about your students’ exams.

Our Teacher Training events are becoming a regular fixture in teachers’ calendars, so start the academic year by joining us in November—and don’t miss the first event of the series!

We look forward to seeing you in November!

Julie Banks

Acting the Part in Exam Classes: How to generate ideas with roleplay

In order to truly engage and learn, we need emotional connection. To generate ideas and react meaningfully, we need to care about what we are talking about on some level.

In exam classes, this can be particularly challenging. Time constraints, exam scores and heavy workloads often push student engagement to the bottom of the list. The result? Normally talkative students suddenly have no opinion on routines or holidays, let alone feeling inspired to write a report on public facilities or an essay on happiness.

Squeezing in an inversion becomes infinitely more important than having something meaningful to say, resulting in “empty” writing and blank stares in speaking exams.

Roleplay can change this!

Session 2

Tim Warre

Practical AI for Exam Preparation Teachers

A practical session exploring how AI can support you in planning and delivering effective exam preparation classes.

We’ll look at ready-to-use prompts and ideas for lesson planning and materials generation, recycling language, adapting exam tasks, providing targeted language feedback, increasing learner autonomy, and more.

You’ll leave with a toolkit of practical strategies and prompts that you can start using straight away.
