Autumn Teacher Training

an Exams Catalunya Event

Following the success of our Winter Teacher Training Event earlier this year, we are delighted to launch a new series of professional development mornings for teachers. Our Autumn Teacher Training Event will take place on Saturday 22 November, and we are excited to welcome two outstanding presenters, Anne Robinson and Katy Wright.

This event marks the first in a series of three seasonal training sessions (Autumn, Winter and Spring), designed to offer teachers regular opportunities to refresh their ideas, share best practice and gain inspiration for the classroom.

During the coffee break, staff from Exams Catalunya and Cambridge English Press & Assessment will be available to speak with you individually and answer any questions you may have. You will also be able to browse the latest materials from Cambridge and pick up useful promotional resources for you and your school.

We look forward to seeing you in November and hope you will take full advantage of this valuable and motivating opportunity.

Classroom Management Toolkit

10:00 – 11:15

At the start of the year classroom management can feel overwhelming, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. This session is designed to give teachers practical, ready-to-use ideas to add to their classroom management toolkit. With almost every type of student in mind, we’ll look at the fundamentals of setting up an effective classroom, explore tried-and-true techniques, and experiment with some more innovative — even “off-the-wall” — approaches to keeping lessons on track. Discover ideas you can put to straight work in class on Monday morning.

Let’s be ambitious!

12:15 – 13:30

Sticking to known language they feel confident with may seem like a sensible approach to speaking and writing, especially in exam situations. However, the higher assessment bands require our students to demonstrate a range of more sophisticated lexis and grammar. As teachers, we also need to hear and see them using new language so that we can judge their progress and stay motivated ourselves! In this session, we’ll consider several areas, including complexity, sophistication, flexibility and control, applicable from level B1 upwards.
