The Fear of Being Wrong: Unlocking Your Students’ Speaking Skills for Exams

The “V” word when speaking is an epidemic in Spain: vergüenza. We’re here to cure it. Your students know more English than they show; the fear of being wrong locks it away. In this hands-on 75-minute session, Eric Poris, founder of Easyworld Academy, shares the methodology that turns vergüenza into confidence, and how he tested it on himself: going from four words of Kinyarwanda to haggling in a Rwandan market in under eight hours. But you won’t just listen. Together, we’ll build a real student profile, then pool the room’s expertise in open-space circles where every teacher’s strength meets another’s challenge. You’ll leave with a ready-to-use speaking activity for Monday, resources and inspiration for your students, and a network of teachers to lean on.
