You’re so demanding!
Back when I was commuting between Cambridge and Swansea for 11 hours a week (!) some 6 years ago, I used to binge watch ELT lectures on the train. None ever struck a chord with me as meaningfully as the talks by Jim Scrivener and Adrian Underhill on Demand High. The image of students “swimming around in the same level” is one I have brought with me and worked on ever since, and one that I’m sure will resonate with many others as well. This hands-on workshop will feature a collection of strategies, tips, activities and “memes” borne out of years of trying to demand more of my students. We’ll be using examples from Richmond’s new course for young adult learners – Personal Best. Come along for a bagful of ideas you can try out on Monday!
